As a professional online shopper and lifestyle editor (yes, I love my job), as well as a lifelong New Yorker with a mother who used to work in fashion, I can definitively say that I am great at shopping.
While I told myself I wasn’t going to shop much this season in an effort to contribute a little more to my 401(k), as soon as the weather hit 60 in New York, I knew that goal was toast. There’s just something about sunshine on the skin and switching my hot lattes over to iced coffees that makes me want to refresh my entire wardrobe, home and bathroom cabinet.
Currently, I have approximately 928 items in my Nordstrom cart, from investment cookware to new fashion drops and “It Girl” fragrances. Below, shop the 20 best editor-approved items from Nordstrom that I’m buying in April.
Full disclosure: I already own four different pairs of these leggings — but they’re seriously the best! Made of 100% recycled water bottles, I guarantee you will not find a more comfortable pair to do both a HIIT workout and light stretching in than these ones from Girlfriend Collective. Plus, my collection is lacking a nice neutral navy.
2. Dior Addict Lip Tint, $35
While I patiently wait for the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil to be restocked, I’m investing in this brand new lip tint. I’ve also officially decided that peach and coral lips are going to be the thing this summer. No, I don’t make the rules.
A white cottagecore minidress for spring (and summer)? Groundbreaking, I know.
4. Youth to the People Superfood Air Whip Moisture Cream, $16 – $48
Speaking of summer, it’s time to switch up ye olde skin care routine. I have oily, very acne-prone skin so as the weather gets hotter I need to switch it up to a lighter, gel-based moisturizer. I’ve heard so many amazing about this hyaluronic acid-based moisturizer from Youth to the People and can’t wait to try it out.
5. LE PUZZ Hot Dog 500-Piece Puzzle, $28
For very obvious reasons, I have added this to my cart. I suggest you do the same.
6. BYREDO Blanche Eau de Parfum, $196 – $276
A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to become a perfume person, considering my scents had previously only consisted of rollerballs grabbed in the checkout line at Sephora. What better place to start than the clean and fresh scent Blanche from the cool-girl brand BYREDO? With tones of white rose, violet and sandalwood, I plan to die with this scent.
7. BYREDO Blanche Body Lotion, $65
Since we all know perfume lasts longer on well-moisturized skin (yes, it really does!), I’m obviously also getting the BYREDO scented body lotion to match. Your girl is going all out and doing everything to avoid smelling like the New York City Subway system this summer.
In the word of everyone who wears clothes, it is believed that Kimberly Noel Kardashian has made the most comfortable and well-fitting bodysuit of all time. Plus, there’s no better summer basic than a sleeveless bodysuit — and this khaki green color is so on-trend right now.
Every time I see this Charlotte Tilbury blush wand swipe across the cheeks of a beauty influencer on TikTok, I die a little bit inside because I’m not the one doing the swiping. Obviously, it’s time to add it to my cart and live my most flush, most glam life.
10. Lisa Says Gah Denim Tote, $21 (Orig. $35)
Ever since I first saw this tiny tote bag, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. No lie, it’s haunted my dreams in the best way — I truly cannot wait to prance around with it all spring and summer (and fall and winter and everything in between).
11. NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil, $27
Everyone has a staple beauty item that they never stray from, no matter what new and exciting product comes out. For me, that’s the NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in the shade “Cruella” — aka the perfect wearable, long-lasting red lip. It’s been a mainstay for me since my high school days, and it’s time to restock!
I am also buying this simply because I have no self-control, and I love bougie candles.
I’ve been on the hunt for a black sleeveless maxi dress to throw on during the summer for running errands, and *drumroll* I found it with this dress right here, baby!
14. W&P Design Extra Large Ice Cube Tray, $14
A rainbow sprinkle-themed silicone ice cube tray is something I never knew I needed until I saw it. Oh, boy, do we all need it for a little burst of joy in our lives.
15. NIKE Daybreak Sneaker, $90
I’m the first to admit that my white sneaker collection has gotten out of hand. So to add a little bit of color to my collection, I’m taking advantage of this pastel pair of NIKE Daybreaks. How sweet and cute is the combo?
16. Reformation Vera Linen Miniskirt, $128
In terms of 2000s trends coming back into style, I would rather eat raw chicken than wear low-rise jeans again. However, miniskirts are something I can get behind. This Reformation checked miniskirt can be dressed up or down.
I have lusted over the Le Creuset “Artichaut” color collection since its release. It’s finally time to get the Dutch oven in this color, and you’re all welcome to come over for dinner!
18. BP. Loaf Canvas Pouch, $6 – $12 (Orig. $12)
Clearly I have a thing for the color green. But I actually do need this canvas pouch since my gel liner exploded all over my old makeup bag. Sad.
20. Supergoop! Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 Sunscreen, $22 – $32
‘Tis the time of year to stock up on large amounts of sunscreen! The beloved Supergoop! Play sunscreen comes in two different sizes. Safety first!!!
